Trains, Trains, and more Trains, pt. 2

Sabtu, 20 September 2008 0 komentar

As a followup to my August post, here are a few more undated 1950’s shots from the Frontierland Depot, featuring the front of the C.K. Holliday and its caboose.

Over on Main Street, it must be Christmas, according to the festive decor (and howzabout those cool attraction posters!). The C.K. Holliday is pulling into the station, whizzing by the Kalamazoo Handcar.

The cloudy gloomy nature of this shot is more like Halloween, but at least it provides us with a rare view of the tracks as well as a farely uncluttered background free of landscaping, guests, and the current commotion of Harbor Boulevard.

See more Disneyland Railroad photos at my regular website. For all you Pirates of the Caribbean movie fanatics, you can now pre-order the complete trilogy on Blu-ray for under $60 at Amazon.com.

Two undated slides here from the same batch showing the Frontierland Depot. Today, the water tower is on the other side of the tracks and no longer bears the Santa Fe emblem. The C.K. Holliday is featured in both views.

Jumping forward from the 50’s to May 1974, we have this shot of the trestle that runs over Bear Country:

Meanwhile, over at Knotts, our October 1970 photographer took these shots for us to savor:

A nice Boiler Plate closeup:

And what’s Labor Day without a little Monkey action? But like the sign says, no teasing!

Indian Village & Fort Wilderness, April 1958

Here’s one taken from the Indian Village towards Fort Wilderness. Speaking of Fort Wilderness, here are 2 interior shot that I recently snagged:

Back to 1958, here’s a blurry one; is this an Indian Princess?

Meanwhile, back over on Tom Sawyer’s Island, they are plugging away trying to meet the 5/07 deadline:

My last visit just didn’t seem the same without the Disneyland Railroad, so I am posting two pics in commemoration of one of my favorite attractions: CK Holliday, July 1957:
